Kölner Instacoll Gold Leaf Glue

Instacoll is a water-soluble bonding agent that creates a high-gloss, weather-resistant surface for both exterior and interior gilding. Instacoll can be used on almost all surfaces.

Apply Instacoll with a soft brush. Usually one to two evenly applied coats are sufficient. The previous coat must be allowed to dry before applying the next coat.

Porous surfaces such as untreated wood, stone, plaster should first be treated with a 15% water/instacoll solution. After approximately 30 minutes of drying time, the area should be treated again with undiluted Instacoll. The aforementioned porous and weathering materials may require several layers of film to make the surface fully weatherproof.

Depending on the conditions, gilding can be done approximately one hour after applying the last layer and the open time after this is approximately one hour.

Can be reactivated with Kölner activation solution.
